Our Posh Collar Master Classes are short courses designed for dog owners who want to improve a specific skill, such as lead walking or recall. These sessions focus on helping you strengthen your bond with your dog and achieve reliable results in your training by using positive reinforcement techniques.

Taster Sessions

Our Taster sessions are designed for dog owners, particularly beginners or those curious about exploring new activities with their dogs. These sessions introduce you and your dog to exciting areas such as scentwork, pet gundog training, or agility, giving you the opportunity to see which activity your dog enjoys the most and helping you decide on future training directions together

Personalised Approach

At Posh Collar Academy, we keep our class sizes small to ensure each owner and dog receives individual attention and feedback. This personalised approach means we can tailor our training to each dog's unique needs, delivering better results for both pets and their owners.

Some master classes or taster sessions require prerequisite skills, but not all. Each session is designed to support your learning and progress, no matter your current skill level in the topic being taught.

Depending on the time of day, season, weather conditions, and the skill level of the group, our instructors will assess the group to determine whether training will take place indoors or outdoors. This flexible approach ensures everyone’s comfort and supports effective learning. We will advise you of the location for each course at the time of booking.

Loose Lead Walking Master Class

Many dog owners dream of enjoying a relaxed stroll with their dogs, but one of the most frequent concerns we hear is, “Our walks are such hard work—I just want my dog to stop pulling.”

Our Loose Lead Walking Master Class is a focused short course designed to teach you and your dog how to walk calmly together. This masterclass is about getting the basics right. Helping you achieve a soft, loose lead with your dog calmly walking by your side. The course will guide your dog to choose to stay close, regularly check in with you, and build the skills needed to manage those moments when your dog might get distracted during walks. By the end of this course, you'll know practical techniques to keep your dog focused on you, even in distracting environments, making walks more enjoyable for both of you.

Recall Master Class

Having a consistent and reliable recall not only keeps us and our dogs safe but also allows us to offer them more freedom. However, one of the most common statements we hear from our clients is “My recall works at home but as soon as we go out it stops working”.

The Recall Master Class is a specialised short training course focused on building a solid foundation for a strong and consistent recall. By the end of this course, your dog will be able to respond more reliably to recall commands, even in distracting environments, and you’ll have practical strategies to maintain and strengthen this behaviour over time. You’ll learn how to get your dog to choose to come back to you, ensure they return promptly, and develop the skills needed to manage those moments when your dog might get distracted while out and about.

Life Skills Workshops

In addition to Master Classes, we also deliver informal information sharing sessions on many topics from getting a puppy, though tricky teenagers and care for older dogs, long line handling and vet / grooming manners (handling by others), including dog first aid. Where relevant we work with other dog professionals to provide specialist sessions on such things as pain management, supporting your rescue dog, or wider behavioural challenges.
